Who doesn’t love a delicious homely crumble? I have a very sweet tooth, and this recipe is perfect if you’re looking for a crumbly, sweet and filling pudding that is simple to bake!
For the crumble topping:
120g plain flour
60g unsalted butter at room temperature
60g caster sugar
For the filling:
2 cooking apples diced
175g fresh or frozen raspberries
50g caster sugar
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon ( optional )
Preheat your oven to 190C/170C fan/gas 5
SERVES 4 – 6
Mix the flour and the sugar together in a large bowl. Cut the butter into cubes and add into the flour and sugar. Using your fingertips, work the mixture together until it resembles fine breadcrumbs.
Once you’ve finished the topping you can move on to the filling. Put the butter, apples, raspberries, sugar and cinnamon into a pan over a medium heat for around 10 minutes making sure to stir occasionally. Once the fruit begins to soften, tip out into an ovenproof dish and sprinkle over your crumble topping. Put your crumble into the oven for 20-25 minutes and take out.
Leave to cool slightly for 5 minutes and serve with fresh custard, clotted cream or ice cream.
